Privacy and your data
What we collect from your quiz answers, your visits, and your account, and what we do with all of it.
Short version: we keep what we need to give you good café matches, we don’t sell anything, and you can delete it all at any time.
What we collect
When you sign up and take the quiz, we keep:
- Your email and display name
- Your quiz answers and the resulting personality
- Your favourite cafés, lists, reviews, and visit history
- The cafés where you’ve earned stamps and the rewards you’ve redeemed
- Aggregate analytics about which screens you’ve visited
We don’t collect, store, or sell:
- Your real-time location (we use city-level location only when you ask for nearby cafés)
- Any information from third-party platforms beyond what you supply
- Anything we don’t actively use to make the platform work for you
How we use it
Your quiz answers feed your match scores. Your favourites and stamp history feed your personalised recommendations and the universal loyalty card. Your reviews appear on café profiles attached to your display name.
Aggregated, de-identified data may be shared with the café you’re standing in (e.g. “12 of your regulars match the Sanctuary Seeker personality”). We never share your individual quiz answers, your personality, or your visit history with cafés.
Selling data
We don’t sell your data. We don’t share it with marketers. We don’t run an ad network. The only third parties who touch any of this are the infrastructure providers we use to host and run the platform (Supabase for storage, Vercel for hosting, Resend for email), each of which has its own data policies that we hold them to.
Deleting your data
Settings → Account → Close my account triggers full deletion within 30 days. We delete your account, quiz history, favourites, and stamp history. Public reviews stay attached to the café but are reattributed to “Deleted user”.
The full policy
The detailed legal version is on the Privacy Policy page. It covers retention timelines, third-party processors, your rights under the Australian Privacy Principles, and how to contact our privacy address.
