Managing your account
How to update your email, change your password, and manage notifications and preferences.
Account settings live under Profile → Settings on the web app and mobile sites. Here’s how to change the things you might want to change.
Email address
If you want to change the email associated with your account, go to Settings → Email. Enter the new address. We send a confirmation email to the new address with a link. Clicking the link finalises the change. Until you click it, your old email stays the active one.
Password
Settings → Password. Enter your current password, then your new one twice. We use industry-standard password hashing, never store passwords in plain text, and never see them ourselves.
If you’ve forgotten your current password, sign out and use the “Forgot password” link on the sign-in screen. We email you a reset link valid for one hour.
Display name
Your display name shows up on your reviews and on staff-facing screens at participating cafés (so the barista can greet you by name when they scan your card). Change it under Settings → Profile.
Notifications
By default, we send:
- A welcome email when you sign up
- An email when a reward unlocks at a café you’ve collected stamps at
- Occasional product updates (no more than one a month)
Settings → Notifications lets you turn each of these off independently. We do not run promotional or marketing emails by default. If you opt out of all our emails, your account still works exactly the same; you just won’t hear from us.
Two-factor authentication
We support 2FA via authenticator apps (Google Authenticator, 1Password, Authy, etc). Settings → Security to set it up. We do not currently offer SMS-based 2FA because it’s a less secure method. We may add hardware key support later.
Closing your account
Settings → Account → Close my account. Your data is deleted within 30 days. Public reviews stay attached to the café but are reattributed to “Deleted user”.
